Lucinda is currently the owner of A Perfect Pour, a consulting company to restaurants for assembling and managing wine lists as well as training staff. She is also a Sales Consultant at Washburn Wine Company, a Baltimore based distributor. Previously, she owned The Vineyard Table, a fine wine shop located in Herndon, Virginia, and owned and managed The Wine Seller, a wine retailer also located in Herndon, Virginia. She has held the positions of Fine Wine Sales Consultant for Roanoke Valley Wine Company and Sommelier at Tuscarora Mill in Leesburg - completing her experience of working all of the angles of the wine trade - retail, wholesale and restaurant.
A self confessed, lifelong "restaurant rat", Lucinda has worked in several Washington, D.C., area restaurants including Off the Record at the Hay-Adams Hotel and Sequoia Restaurant both in Washington, D.C.; Santa Fe East, 219 Restaurant and Elysium at The Morrison House all in Alexandria; Bistro Bistro and Capital City Brewing Company in Arlington and The Tower Club, a members only club, in McLean, Virginia to name a few. Currently, she also works as Maitre d' at The Ashby Inn & Restaurant in Paris, Virginia. In her free time, she lends her services to A Thyme and a Place Food Consultants of Delray whose clients include many on Capital Hill and in Old Town Alexandria.
Lucinda currently holds the Certified Specialist of Wine and Certified Specialist of Spirits titles from the Society of Wine Educators; the Intermediate Certification with Distinction from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust and is currently enrolled in the Advanced Certificate program with WSET. She is also a certificate holder from the Sommelier Society of Washington, D.C. She has completed the Australian Sommelier Immersion Program through Wine Australia and has been a participant in both Oregon Pinot Camp and Road Trip Washington, immersion programs on Oregon and Washington State, respectively, hosted for the trade. She also holds a certificate for completing the Introductory Course of the Court of Master Sommeliers. In January 2012, she successfully passed the Center for Wine Origins Wine Location Specialist Certificate Program, which is focused on the regions of Champagne and Porto.
Lucinda is a member of the Guild of Sommeliers and the Society of Wine Educators and was a judge for several years for the Virginia Governor's Cup Competition. Currently, she is also the educator for the LoCo Tasting Group, which is for winemakers of Loudoun County and their staff as well as marketers of Loudoun County wines.
